making the headlines

Posted on Apr. 2, 2009 by Stefan Jonsson, Programs and Marketing Coordinator

Here at Queenswood, we've now been writing on the Queenswood blog for just over two months.  We love this new way to communicate with the whole wide Queenswood community.  In fact, the gift of the Internet means that we're sharing these posts with the entire world.  I especially appreciate all of the feedback that many of our readers have offered me over these past two months.  My hope is that as the new Queenswood website continues to grow and expand, it will become a living community in itself - an outgrowth of the Queenswood at 2494 Arbutus Rd. in Victoria, BC.

In this way, I would love to encourage others -- volunteers, guests, sabbatical residents, or anyone for whom Queenswood is special -- to contribute to this blog.  Queenswood staff will continue to add posts regularly, but the staff are only a small part of Queenswood, and this blog is for the whole community.  Here are some  ideas of what some people might like to write about:

  • a special experience you had at Queenswood -- on a retreat, at an evening series, during a yoga class, while receiving Reiki, while using the therapeutic pool, etc.
  • poems, prayers, meditations
  • a special social justice concern that you share with Queenswood
  • what it's like to be a volunteer at Queenswood
  • why Queenswood is important to you
  • a message of gratitude to donors that fund the bursary program

The list is endless.  But what links all of these ideas together is Queenwood.  So if you would like to contribute to the Queenswood blog, please let me know.  Just send me a short email describing what you would like to write about, then I will get back to you quickly, and you can get typing!  And when you're ready to put it online, you can email it to me (along with photos if you like), and I'll post it for you.

Looking forward to all of the wonderful stories this blog will host,
Stefan Jonsson, Programs and Marketing Coordinator

soul travel: a roadway to healing

Posted on Apr. 2, 2009 by Eileen Curteis, ssa, Reiki Healing Ministry

I would like to invite you to go on a human and divine journey with me. It's a five evening course beginning on Monday, April 27 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at Queenswood. My book, Soul Travel, with nine meditations accompanied by poems and sketches will take you into your soul centre where a holistic journey of healing can exhilarate you from the inside out. I also met inspired musicians who brought my work to completion with a CD that you will find at the back of my book. I was inspired to write this book because of my own resurrectional breakthrough. What happened to me can happen to anyone. You will receive the book and CD as part of the programme.

For further information on this five week course please contact me at Queenswood: Eileen Curteis, ssa, 250.477.3822 ext. 230.
